This page explains what the Kid Pass Impact website saves in your browser, what it is for and how you stay in control. It is provided under Article 122 of the Italian Privacy Code (Legislative Decree 196/2003) and the Guidelines of the Italian Data Protection Authority of 10 June 2021. The processing of personal data is described in the privacy notice.

In short

  • Our website does not set cookies; only Cloudflare, which protects it, may set a technical security cookie. No profiling or advertising cookies.
  • It does not load content from other websites (no external fonts, maps, videos or social buttons): no other website finds out that you are visiting it.
  • In your browser it saves only your cookie choice and, for the length of your visit, the activity programme you put together.
  • Anonymous statistics run only if you accept them, and they use no cookies.
  • You can change your mind at any time from “Cookie preferences” at the bottom of every page.

What your browser saves

Browser storage (localStorage and sessionStorage) works in a similar way to cookies, but it stays on your device and is not sent to the website automatically. The website uses it for two things only, both first-party and needed for a service you ask for, so no consent is required:

Name Type Purpose When it is created Duration
kp-consenso browser storage (localStorage) Remembers your cookie choice (categories, version of the policy, date) and a random code for the record of choices. When you choose in the banner Until you change it or clear the site data; the choice lasts 6 months
kp-programma browser storage (sessionStorage) Remembers the activities you add to your programme in the catalogue, so they can be carried into the “Request a meeting” form. When you add an activity to the programme Deleted when you close the tab

Without these entries the banner would reappear on every page and the programme you put together would be lost.

Anonymous statistics, only if you accept them

If you accept them, your browser sends our server a short message when you open a page, open or send the “Request a meeting” form, or download the brochure or the Impact Report. The message only says which event happened and on which page. The server counts each visitor only once a day using a code that changes every day, does not contain the IP address and is deleted within 2 days: only the totals remain. It uses no cookies and saves nothing in your browser, and no external service receives this data. Details are in the privacy notice.

So why do we ask for your permission? Because the message is sent from your device because we choose to collect it, and it is not needed to show you the website. The European authorities (EDPB Guidelines 2/2023 on Article 5(3) of the ePrivacy Directive, implemented in Italy by Article 122 of the Privacy Code) consider this use of your device to be covered by the cookie rules even without cookies: that is why we have chosen to ask for your consent. If you decline or close the banner with the X, no message is sent. If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control or “Do Not Track” signal, we do not count you in any case.

Website security: Cloudflare

The website is protected by Cloudflare. If its protections against automated traffic or misuse are active, Cloudflare may set a technical security cookie, for example __cf_bm (lasts 30 minutes of inactivity), cf_clearance (remembers that you passed a security check, for as long as that check is valid) or __cfruid and _cfuvid (used to tell apart visitors sharing the same IP address when traffic limits apply). These are technical cookies used only for security, not to follow you across websites, and they do not require consent. Details are in Cloudflare’s cookie policy.

How you choose and change your mind

  • On your first visit a banner asks whether to allow anonymous statistics. “Reject” and “Accept” carry equal weight; “Customise” shows the details. Nothing is switched on for you in advance.
  • If you close the banner with the X, no optional feature is switched on: only the technical ones remain, as if you had rejected. Scrolling the page or continuing to browse does not count as consent.
  • You can change your mind at any time from “Cookie preferences” at the bottom of every page: withdrawing is as easy as consenting and takes effect immediately.
  • Your choice applies to this website and this browser. We will not ask again for 6 months, unless the features described here change significantly: in that case we update this page and the banner reappears.
  • If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal, we treat it as a rejection and do not show the banner.
  • Your choice is saved in your browser (kp-consenso) and in our record of choices, with a random code and without the IP address, so that we can show we respected it (see the privacy notice).

How to clear the data from your browser

You can delete this website’s data at any time from your browser settings, usually under “Privacy” or “Cookies and site data”. The banner will reappear on your next visit.

The website contains links to external pages, for example LinkedIn, kidpass.it and the other Kid Pass websites. Those pages open only if you click on them and follow their own cookie policies.
